Support for our carers through every step of the process

Moments Fostering Agency have an excellent fostering support team who take on a number of tasks to support you, our valued carers.

Support includes discussing referrals, representation at meetings, statutory reviews, regular home visits and weekly phone calls.

If you are new to fostering we provide preparation training. If you are experienced in foster care we provide a payment for skills on top of our competitive rates.

Ongoing support also takes the form of monthly support groups, 20 days respite per family each year and our 24 hour telephone support helpline.

We are currently seeking experienced foster carers for:

  • 0 to 18 age range
  • Large sibling groups
  • Children with physical disabilities
  • Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Young people seeking asylum
  • A 15 - 18 year old on an independent / supported living programme

Fostering - are you up for the challenge?

Fostering is a challenging role and requires skills and dedication. We need to encourage more people to become foster carers as there are currently approximately 70,000 children in care. We make sure that our carers have the support and skills required to meet the varied and complex needs of these children. For our statement of purpose for carers, click here.

Just some of the things we look for in foster carers:

  • Over 21 years old
  • At least one spare bedroom
  • The ability to learn and rise to the challenge of fostering
  • No children younger than 5 years old at home
  • Commitment to a continuous training and development programme
  • A strong supportive family and friends network
  • The ability to care and support a child as if they were your own birth child
  • The desire to help young people reach their potential
  • Qualities including patience and a sense of humour are beneficial
  • Previous childcare experience is useful but not essential
