The process to become a foster carer with Moments Fostering
If you apply to become a foster carer with Moments Fostering we will invite you to a "Skills To Foster Course". You will be assessed on your experience and skills using the BAAF (British Association for Adoption and Fostering) Form F. This full and thorough process includes discussion with other family members, references from friends and employers past and present. Checks will be made with the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau), NSPCC, Police and Department of Health. You will also be asked to have a medical with your local GP. Moments Fostering would like to stress that all checks are done with the utmost confidentiality. We fully comply with the data protection act.
When the assessment is complete (which takes around four to six months), you will be invited to attend Moments independent Fostering Panel who will either recommend that you are approved or will ask for more information which will help in the final decision if fostering is right for you and your family.
When you are approved the children/young people will be carefully matched to enable you to provide the care that these children or young people need. We will offer you ongoing training and support and work in partnership with parents, carers, Local Authorities and other professionals.
